Carbide cutting discs - how they work, structure and types.

In this category you will find our selection of carbide cutting discs. In our opinion, carbide blades are similar to diamond blades except that they do not have diamond in their segment.

  • Similar structure and functionality to diamond cutting discs
  • Usually cuts a group of materials very efficiently
  • Diamond cutting makes no sense for some groups of materials

Example of cutting plastic pipes with cutting discs

With plastic pipes, it makes little sense to cut them with diamond cutting discs due to the heat generated and the material behavior during cutting. Therefore, many manufacturers switch to "carbide segments".

Structure of a carbide cutting disc

The structure is like that of a diamond cutting disc:

  • Stem - Rarely altered unless an adjustment in shape serves a better purpose.
  • Segments - The segments are specially adapted to the area of application in terms of shape, size and coating.
